Cyber Safety

Resources for Students & Teachers

Employee Cyber Security resources are available through the YPS Information Technology Intranet site.

Online connections have transformed our daily lives, opening up a world of opportunities. No matter who or where we are, when we are online, we are all digital citizens, part of one online community of learners.  What we do can have a big influence on everyone else.

The curriculum matrix below identifies lessons for each grade level. Most lessons are structured to last approximately 45 minutes. Lessons include activities and resources that encourage students and parents to extend and build on classroom lessons at home. The best way to prevent issues and misuse of technology is continually educate students on how to be good digital citizens and the consequences if they are not.

It is not always obvious how to get the most out of this technology. However, as we get to know more about our online world we discover new paths, make our own journeys, and learn new skills. When we choose consciously about how to engage in the online world we take control of our own experiences. No matter how many options, the final choice is ours.

Our behaviors can affect our world and everyone in it, and by engaging positively, we can create a better world. Know your online world and choose consciously.
